Shillong: The Indian Overseas Bank on Friday organised a meeting to mark Vigilance Awareness Week at the bank premises.
Speaking on the occasion, chief manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Asim Kumar Bhattacharya said corruption needs to be wiped out for the country’s future. “There is indeed a need to sensitise and motivate people though intensive publicity campaigns and promote a corruption-free environment,” he stressed.
The aim of observing Vigilance Awareness Period is to enlist participation of the masses and regain their faith in the system in the fight against corruption.
DIG, CBI, Shillong H Nonghpluh, besides other bank officials were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Shillong is also observing Awareness Period.
