Three gangsters allegedly involved in murder held
Imphal August 16: Thoubal police commandos who arrested a three member gang has revealed after investigations that they were involved in the killing of a man a one month back.
The three member gang was nabbed by a team of Thoubal police commandos during a frisking and checking operation at Samaram area of Thoubal district on the eve of Independence Day. They were identified as Adhikarimayum Shakhen Sharma (26) son of Borthakur, Khumukcham Tharo Singh (36) son of late Babu and Chabungbam Sunder Singh (22) son of late Laiba. They are residents of Samaram Mayai Leikai and were nabbed in the evening of August 14, around 3.30 pm.
A 9 mm pistol loaded with three live rounds in a magazine was recovered from the possession of Shakhen while one hand grenade each was recovered from the possession of Tharo and Sunder, a statement of the Senior SP, Thoubal district police, Clay Khongsai said today.
Further verifications revealed that that the gang was involved in the killing of Kongrailatpam Gouradas Sharma of same village on July 10 this year. Mention may be made that Gouradas was found dead with bullet injuries at a place between Samaram and Chingdham villages of Thoubal district in the morning on July 10 last.
