Controversial French filmmaker Roman Polanski made his first public appearance as a free man to support his singer wife Emmanuelle Seigner at a music festival in Switzerland.
The Rosemary’s Baby director regained his freedom on Monday after Swiss officials turned down US prosecutors’ requests to extradite him on a 33-year-old child-sex charge.
Polanski had been under house arrest at a luxury chalet in Gstaad since he was seized in Zurich last September en route to a film festival.
And the director made his first public outing at a similar event on Saturday, attending the Montreux Jazz Festival to watch his musician wife perform.
The moviemaker was greeted by a throng of photographers and reporters as he made his way to watch the set, but refused to give any interviews.
