DTO ‘release’ report denied

SHILLONG: Authorities have strongly refuted reports that the Garo militant outfit GNLA “freed” the abducted District Transport Officer (DTO) R Syngkon, in October. Reacting to unconfirmed reports that began around Saturday evening about the freeing of Syngkon, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi said, “We don’t have confirmed reports about Syngkon being set free by the militants.”
