Hollwood beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones has been made a Commander in the Order of the British Empire.
The 40-year-old actress who left the UK for Hollywood more than a decade ago, is the surprise recipient of the knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, reported Daily Mail online.
The Welsh actress was among 975 entertainers, sports stars and military heroes who were recognised for their achievements in the final honours list of the last government.
“I am absolutely thrilled with this honour. As a British subject, I feel incredibly proud, at the same time it is overwhelming and humbling. And my mum and dad are delighted beyond belief,” said the actress.
She will receive the honour from the Queen in a gala ceremony later this month.
