Imphal, July 19: Troops of 5 Assam Rifles under the aegis of the Red Shield Division in a joint operation with Police Commandoes of Imphal West apprehended two UNLF cadres and one PREPAK cadre on July 17/18.

The security forces nabbed S/S Sgt Takhellambam Raghumani @ Mangangba @ Mani @ Raghu (35), of Khoijuman Mayai Leikai, Bishenpur district at Imphal Airport.

The individual was brought to Silchar and on his information the Army was able to apprehend another UNLF cadre, S/S Corporal  Uttam @ Nancho (24) of Sagolband Tera, Sapam Leirak, Imphal West along with one 0.38mm pistol and six live rounds in the midnight of  July 18.

In another incident based on specific information, 5 Assam Rifles along with Police Commandos apprehended a PREPAK cadre, Nganthoi @ Suresh (15), son of Tomba of Thoubal Leisangthem,  and recovered one 9mm pistol from his possession.
