AMWJU given award

Imphal, June 06: The third “Adam Environment Award”, given biennially by the Alliance for Development Alternative Manipur, Kakching, was conferred to the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union today.
The award was handed over to AMWJU represented by its president Khogendro Khondam in a function held at Angan Hill Eco Park at Kakching. Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board, MLA Bijoy Koijam graced the function as chief guest.
The function presided over by MLA Y Surchandra was also attended by additional chief conservator of forest Bala Prashad as guest of honour.
The award is conferred biennially as part of encouragement to those working in the field of environment and biodiversity.
The award comprises a cash award of Rs 10,000, a citation and memento. On the occasion, prizes of the painting competition of school students held yesterday in connection with the World Environment Day.
