7 killed in State incidents
GUWAHATI, July 26 – Seven persons were killed while two others went missing today in separate incidents in Assam, reports PTI.
Three girls drowned and two others went missing in Mangaldoi river of Mangaldoi district while they were taking a dip on the occasion of Hindu festival ‘Bole Bom’ , officials said here.
A large number of people had converged on the riverbank for performing rituals.
Rescue workers recovered three bodies, they said, adding, a search is being conducted to rescue the missing girls.
In a separate incident in Jorhat district, three members of a family drowned when they went for fishing in Teok river, officials said.
In Bongaigaon district, a boy was killed by lightning near Bijni when he was participating in a ‘Bole Bom’ procession, they said.
