4 criminals held, arms seized

JOWAI: Ladrymbai Police on Monday arrested four suspected hardcore criminals and seized two foreign–made pistols, 28 rounds of live ammunition (7.5 mm) and four magazines from their possession.
The four — Doni Lytep, Kamai Kha Basumatary, Gopal Rabha (both from Assam) and Raja Dev Burma (from Tripura) — were arrested from Ladrymbai Petrol Pump.
Police, who suspect that the arrested persons might be hardcore criminals, were trying to ascertain their involvement in several looting cases in Jaintia Hills particularly in the coal belt areas under Khliehriat subdivision.
